Rotary History
  • Paul Harris founded the first club in February 1905 in Chicago so professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas, serve the community, and form meaningful, lifelong friendships.
  • The Spoke or Rotary Wheel, symbolizes “Civilization movement and service work in action”. 
  • Today there are 46,000+ clubs worldwide with 1.4 million members.
  • The term “Rotary” represented the members rotating meetings from one location to another
