The Laramie International Flavor Festival is a Main Street event to welcome international students and families to Laramie and help them feel more at home. The event will be April 16-20. The event has also evolved to gathering stories and expanded to community members. There is a strong partnership with the UW Global Engagement office.

This will be the third year featuring 20+ restaurants, 60 students/community members, and 40 countries. Each story and recipe are picked by a restaurant to highlight.

In the past, Coal Creek has made borscht and Sweet Melissa’s has made koshary. Often the restaurants make more than one dish relevant to the country and person.

This year, the Library will be highlighting Paul Taylor and his fish and chips recipe. Mizu Sushi will focus on rendang-Indonesian food, the Alibi will have pabellon criollo, and Bond’s Brewing will highlight a Dunkel Beer.

At the restaurants there will be table cards about the people and their stories. There are also several events this year.

Bond’s Brewing will have a foodie trivia night. There will be a bare foot boogie, an international poetry night, and an international showcase.

Opening night will be at The Collective, at the old Salvation Army. There will be a press conference to meet the students and community members at 5:30 p.m.

Response: Tony Hoch

Response: The Rotary Club of Laramie will make a donation to the public library children’s book fund in the speaker’s name.
NOTE: We Do Not Donate a Book!

Rotary 4-way test
Of the things we think, say, or do:
•Is it the Truth?
•Is it Fair?
•Will it build Good Will and
  Better Friendships?
•Will it be Beneficial to All
  Concerned?

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
•FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
•SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
•THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
•FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Upcoming Rotary Events:
  • Rotary District 5440 Conference: May 16-18 in Steamboat Springs
